My passenger front speaker is making a static/vibration sound. When I went into the door, I saw nothing like holes or blown cones.
When I hold one of the wires that goes from the woofer to the tweeters the
static goes away completely.
They are Pioneer TS-A1682S 3-way. They are not the top of the
line, but they sound pretty good. i have a 08 Dodge Dakota.
Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing that?

Thanks

could be a damaged tinsel lead, or a damaged voice coil.
it could also be that the speaker terminals are grounding out to the metal door skin, which can cause a short and staticy sound when the speaker is screwed into the door.

The sound is the same whether it is screwed in the door or not, I wrapped some tape in it, and the sound is gone.
