IMO the Infinity Beta's are as bland as can be. The Cambridge speakers may be good but with the Wharfedale's you get a new speaker complete with warranty for the price of used...I personally know of no better value at the price for a dynamic floorstander. |

Your best bet is to see if you can listen to them for yourself, instead of watching this discussion go off on some boring tangent. I love the Betas (still own a pair of 20s), Art didn't and sold his off. |

The Perfect Vision had a bit more than average credibility due it's lineage, but even then.... Chris, didn't mean to rattle your chain (hope you know that) but I have to say it as I heard it and the Beta 20's still rate as one of the worst speakers I've had in my listening room. There wasn't anything interesting about their sound, dead as a doornail (and no that isn't another way of saying neutral). |

I value Art's opinion, as he has much more experience than I do in this hobby, but I have & will continue to disagree with him on this matter. My Beta 20s excelled at whatever I threw at them, in multiple configurations, and in several rooms. Today they sit in my closet, replaced by the Wharfedale EVO2-10, but I hope to someday find suitable situation to once again enjoy them. |

You also may go down a few paths which are dead end. Some speakers may sound great at a guys house, but after you get 'em home, may not work for you. Or work, than you decide you don't like them, after all. That kind of thing happens all the time and some people have made a stereo career out of swapping equipment around...... |
