im looking at buying my gf a head unit for her car as her current one is broken. I have a friend who works for sony who can get me the Xplod CDX-GT690UI for almost half price but i have heard some bad things about sony car audio and was wondering if it was mainly just amps and subs that are a concern or are their head units bad also?
Would it be better for me to get this one, with slightly better specs, or to go for an alpine or pioneer of lower specs within my budget
