Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 188 Registered: Sep-05 | Kyle: I do not have an amp, yes, I will be running them off of the HU. I have basically run out of $ for now and I think the HU will power them enough. SKD: Thank you first of all, and I was going to use them, but I found a good deal. LOL deathoob: Yes, you did. LOL steve: Thank you and I will update as much as possibe without overdoing it. Sean P: Thank you, I love it. The box, I forgot. I know you guys aren't going to like this, but I bought one from a local shop. Got a great deal. It is sealed, which I prefer, and it is top quality. I did some measuring and calculating and this box is great for the subs. Like I said before, I am out of $ and would love to have built my own or had bassman build me one, but I don't think I could do it now. Thanks for asking. Silver Member Username: RosrockMichigan Post Number: 411 Registered: Mar-09 | what kinda power does the ed9.1 put out and do you have an aftermarket battery/alt with big 3 done? |
Silver Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 726 Registered: Sep-09 | i think the ed 9.1 puts out ~1200 watts. (i reserve the right to be wrong.) hey eric did you deaden your floor? i started that to day. prefab sealed boxes are usaly fine, if you go ported thats when you need to never buy prefab, just make sure the box specs match up to your subs. |
Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 189 Registered: Sep-05 | deathoob you are 100% correct. and no I did not deaden my floor, I never even really thought about it, bit I will now. Thanks. Yes, I have done the calculations and everything is near optimal. boss, I do not currently have an aftermarket battery or alt. I will be doing the big 3. |

Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 191 Registered: Sep-05 | Well, so far, I have done 2 layers on the trunk and 1 on both doors. I have enough to do I think 1 more layer on the trunk. Not too shabby, huh? |
Silver Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 734 Registered: Sep-09 | thats really good for 1 gallon i think lol, just ordered a gallon of second skins Spectrum Sludge going to use it cover what ever the SPL tiles won't. |
Silver Member Username: Sleste8Shelbyville, MI United States Post Number: 286 Registered: Mar-10 | is the liquid deadener any good? or is it just personal preference? or is it good to use both, certain ones in certain spots? |
Silver Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 737 Registered: Sep-09 | the liquid is for hard to mold deadner areas tight spaces saves time going on but you haft to let it dry. i believe it can go on thinner then other dampeners bla bla bla. |
Silver Member Username: Sleste8Shelbyville, MI United States Post Number: 288 Registered: Mar-10 | haha, ok man. i was just wondering as i don't know any one personally that has used the liquids. |
Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 192 Registered: Sep-05 | I believe that it is better than some deadeners. If you put on 3 layers at 1mm thick each, your supposed to be able to increase your dB by 12. Check it out here: http://www.quietcoat.com/html/coverage_calculator.html Yes, it is personal preference also. I used in my last car and LOVED it. |
Silver Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 741 Registered: Sep-09 | yeah second skins Spectrum Sludge says 1mm-3mm and you can do it in 1 coat. hehehe |
Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 193 Registered: Sep-05 | I would recommend either of those. More pics tonight. |

Silver Member Username: Boston_splHighland, CA United States Post Number: 240 Registered: Nov-08 | "green under car LEDs, under seat LEDs, 2 green license plate neons and 2 15" green neon tubes in trunk" I wouldn't advertise that. j/k LoL Great choices on the subs, amps, & wiring though. That dash wiring looks like a fun job. LoL Keep it up man, more pix! |
Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 196 Registered: Sep-05 | Thank you. Yeah, I know, but I am going for a theme, my license plate will read R1DDLER. I am going to also have a question mark on the back window. The dash wiring looks worse than it is, most of that is done. Thanks though, really appreciate all of the nice comments. |
Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 197 Registered: Sep-05 | Okay, here they are. I also put some QuietCar on the underside of my car as well. Mainly under the trunk and around the license plate area. ![]() This is some more QuietCar under the bottom of the rear seats. ![]() I have sprayed some rubberized undercoating on all of the QuietCar, just to had some more sound deadening. Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 199 Registered: Sep-05 | 5 gallons is $239.95 plus shipping. But I think their figures are a little off. I think that 5 - 6 gallons would be plenty. That's just me though, based on past experience. I think you could do that to your doors with 1 gallon, not 1 per, just 1 total. I would just check out how much that other stuff would cost compared to QuietCar. I knew about QuietCar from my previous car, I never heard of the other stuff, but it looks just as good or better. Let me know what you decide and if it works out for you. 1 gallon cost me $79.35 with shipping. |

Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 224 Registered: Sep-05 | I so forgot. I bought Knukonceptz. I welcome any of your tips. I noticed the vegetable oil, was that Kroger brand? What no Piggly Wiggly? LOL Thanks man. |
Silver Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 809 Registered: Sep-09 | kroger, so you got there wiring kit? go through the rubber grommet should be able to cut it with a razor, if it was evil like mine you will need a ~3" knife to get through the back side. the oil was for lube, usaly use WD-40. makes it 20 times easier, if you are feeling ballze drill through your fire wall on the battery side if you want shorter run, but 20' and under you should be good to go no matter what. 1/0 seems to big to run like you would 4 ga if you look at my latest pic's see if you have the same thing in your car. it made me rather happy when the idea poped in my head to run it like this. remember to zip tie in the engine bay, not to hot things. and its soooo much easier when the car is all pulled apart instead of fighting the car. |

Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 284 Registered: Sep-05 | Thanks steve. Here's an update for y'all. I got the alternator started to be taken out. Should be out and new one in tomorrow. Also, big 3 should be done tomorrow. I carpeted the amp rack and started on the "cooling system". I got the first hole cut and ready for the fan. Below are some pics that show what it will be like. I am going to put some screen over the holes. More to come tomorrow. ![]() This is the carpeted amp rack in it's hole. Gold Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 1042 Registered: Sep-09 | if there 12V fans 1 wire is power one is ground and 1 is an rpm wire, least thats how it should be. |
Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 288 Registered: Sep-05 | Okay, can I use the rpm wire for remote? If not, how do I hook them up to turn on when the amp does? |
Gold Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 1043 Registered: Sep-09 | no you cant, its just to report the speed of the fan, you want an item called a relay. what that will do is hook in to the same wire as your remote and that will close a connection in the relay that will give power to the fans. its a very simple device shouldn't be more then 5$-10$ just make sure it supports the load you have, the fans will tell you there amperage usage, add it all up then give your self a little head way. |
Silver Member Username: MystrePemberville, Ohio USA Post Number: 289 Registered: Sep-05 | Dang it, I knew that, that's why I already got one of those. Everything went fine until I went to plug in the plug, it does not fit. The new alternator has some plastic blocking it on the sides. I am in contact with powerbastards and waiting a response. I now have to purchase and cut a new piece of plexi, the fans messed up the original. I also purchased some new toggle switches. Started to install the fans. Sean P, I am just replacing it, don't worry, I am still going to use plexi. I am redoing the whole trunk carpet, I screwed that up, so stay tuned for new pics. Also, AWESOME news, I got the new alternator installed and working. Next is my big 3. No pics right now, we just had a huge storm and I don't want to go out in it. So check back tomorrow for pics. I started to run my big 3, but I can not replace the battery to alternator wire, so I need to find out if I can just run one seperately and if I do will it be just like replacing the original? I carpeted over the screws. Got my under seat lighting in and wired. Got my gain knob mounted, it's in my center console box so that it's hidden. I'm trying to be cautious about what can be seen. I used some u-bolts to secure the amp rack to the car. Yes, I soldered the amp screws and used hex screws. How do you get the dang 0 gauge wire into the holes for the power and ground on the amp? Dang things won't take all of the wire. More to come. Now, pics. ![]() This is the amp mounted on the amp rack. Can't really see it, but you can't see any screws or mounting. ![]() This is the amp rack with amp in it's place. ![]() These are the u-bolts from underneath the car. Gold Member Username: Gcs8Atlanta, Ga Post Number: 1285 Registered: Sep-09 | looking really good. trim the wire a bit, maybe some silicone in the screw holes that go out side, some zip ties for wiring under seats just in case, and your car's floor looks about like mine. as for the screws can you take the washers off? you may try some t-nuts and some bolts. |
