Nate Raymond | I have an RA Labs (RDL Acoustics) center channel speaker, and from what I can tell the tweeter is blown on it. RA Labs/RDL is long out of business, but from what I've gathered, they used fairly standard OEM parts. The tweeter is a 1" (25mm) copolymer design, with a rectangular plastic mount. Here are the specs on the center channel speaker as a whole: Low Frequency Response -- -3dB at 55 Hz -8dB at 39 Hz Crossover Frequency -- 3 kHz Impedance -- 6 ohms Sensitivity -- 89 dB SPL Amplifier Power -- 15 to 100 Watts Dimensions -- 7" x 20½" x6½" (178 mm x 521 mm x 165 mm) Weight -- 10 pounds each ( 4.5 kg) I don't know too many places to get a tweeter from, but partsexpress seems to have a few that might work. This one looks almost identical to the RA Labs tweeter, though it's stats are different than the RA Labs speaker as a whole: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Product_ID=7349&DID=7 I'm not sure if this would physically fit or not, but the specs seem closer: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=270-160 How close do the specifications of the tweeter need to be to match the speaker as a whole? Are those good tweeters? Where else can I get a tweeter? Any help greatly appreciated! |
