what do you people means by it required specialist advise.Because people asked for the serial number and i have given it so [lease explain further. THANK
22/08/87 means your radio is a very old 1987 model so read the following
Mercedes do NOT make radios but affix their badge onto radios made by the big manufacturers...so first your radio has to be identified.
Then some of these radios are NOT decoded using the Serial Number (especially very old 1987 models) but use various other methods....so the method used has to be identified.
Finally many Mercedes radios can NOT be decoded for free...so these models have also to be identified.
So that is why you were advised to seek the specialist advice from
restoredclassic@aol.com
Sometimes you have to be patient and seek further advice, especially if you are looking for a free solution.
However if you are in a rush , then take it into your Mercedes Dealer or a Radio Decoding Service ....but be prepared to pay !.
Hi all, After fitting a new battery to my renault scenic, I proceeded to enter the security code which i found on the service book records. i unfortunately entered the wrong number and the error message appeared. now no matter how long i leave the radio turned on, it will not accept the security number and the error message comes on. i've even tried switching the radio off with the 4 zeros showing, but when switched on the error sign comes on again without me doing anything. The code was verified as being correct by the local renault main dealer. I am entering the code as per the radio instructions supplied with the car. Should I be getting the code message prompt? Or is the 4 zeros (1st zero flashing) correct.
