No, considering caps don't really do much, if anything to really help. They more or less just mask the actual problems that are going on within your vehicles electrical system. If you want to actually read some good documentation on this then go to http://www.glasswolf.net/papers/nocaplesson.html this will answer your question in more detail. I'd just make sure to run at least 4 gauge, I'd prefer 0, do the "big 3" upgrade also prefer 0, and probably grab the biggest battery your vehicle can hold. Also, make sure your amp gain is set correctly using a DMM so you aren't sending a clipped signal to your Type R's. When you have it all wired up and hitting, use a DMM to see how much of a voltage sag you have. If you stay at least above 13 then you'll be alright for the most part. If you sag below 13 I'd really recommend a high output alternator since that is really the only way to increase your voltage substantially.
On the Arc Audio website it states that the amp is 1 ohm stable. All you had to do is go to the website and check it out. Now, like I said before, you probably can run it at .5 ohm. Just don't do it for a long time and I would avoid it if possible.
