I have 4 8 ohms speakers built into the wall. 2 speakers work great, but the other 2 are quiet with some static even with the volume on the receiver is turned up. The receiver is 6 ohms. Any idea why these 2 speakers are not working correctly?
I suspect that one speaker is more efficient than the other thus giving the impression that one is quiet. If you've connected them in parallel then the resulting impedance would be 4 Ohms which is probably a little low for your amp. It might be worth connecting in series which would give a impedance of 16 Ohms which would be easier for the amp to handle, but also might make a difference in the apparent volume of each speaker.
