CDT vs DLS front stage

So, I recently ordered DLS Refrence R5A components for my frontstage. Ive heard lots of good things about DLS and im aiming for as high SQ setup as I can get for my budget. After getting scammed by dealercostcaraudio.com (they dont return emails and have awful service if any; foolish me did not read reviews before placing an order). I went over to my good friends at woofersetc.com where the DLS Reference R5A's cost 20$ more.

Apparently they are on back-order from DLS and they dont think they will be getting a shipment anytime soon. So woofersetc offered me a free "upgrade" to CDT CL-52 components. I just wanted to know if these are worth it. I realize that the DLS R5A's were $180 and these CDT's retail for $340 on woofersetc.com but price isnt always everything.

Ive heard alot of good things about DLS, but i havnt heard much about CDT.

Give me your opinions.

Heres the 2 sets for you to compare:

p.s.) The components will be powered by an eclipse ea4200 amp (60x4 RMS @ 4ohm)

you will like both, i never heard cdt myself but they are a great company for making sq comps. im sure if they are giving you an upgrade like that it will be worth it, i should place the same order! lol
by the way great amp for the speakers, eclipse makes my favorite sq amps, your going to love your front stage and will find yourself cruising alot with the subs turned off just because it sounds so good

well id like to stick with DLS but they are on back order. I really have no option but to chose something else (under $200 price range for an SQ setup), or take the CDTs. I'm not going to have much spare time for installing all my new gear anytime soon so I do have a small time cushion to figure this out.

Any more input will be greatly appreciated.

what do you guys think about the Rainbow SLC 230 or the SLC 230.25 NG. It may be possible that I could get a deal on those because of the mishap, and ive heard many good things about rainbow.

If not though I allready submitted a price match request to sonicelectronix for the R5A's.

So, Sonicelectonix doesnt have them in stock either, so i think dls is out of the question unfortuatly. During my lunch break im gonna call woofers and ask about the rainbows.

unfortunately for me, DynAudio, high end Focal, and Seas are far too expensive. I couldn't find anything about Eaton. Rainbow is closest to my price range so hopefully when woofersetc opens their offices on monday they can hook me up with a sweet deal.

let me know what they can do for you, im looking at upgrading soon, and honestly in your price range you will get great sound still with a good install, with more expensive speakers your not going to get as much performance for the price, plus you really need to focus on install then, i mean why spend 800 or more for speakers and not install them correctly you know. if you want the best then you need to spend that money, because even tho it is much more money for small performance gains it is needed for an absolute sq system.

spending 200 or so will get you great sound that most people just dont have in their car even if they do spend 2000 on a system from best buy.

Woofersetc was willing to split the difference with me on the Rainbow SLC 230.25 NG. The DLS R5A's were 179.99 and the Rainbow SLC 230.25 NG were 279.99. So the final price on the Rainbow SLC 230.25 NG's would be 229.99. Pretty good deal in my eyes and I will be purchasing those as soon as I get my next paycheck.
