Wondering if I will need to do anything but hook up an RCA cable from the SW out on my head unit to a stand alone single sub in a box like this one, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_16942_Sony+XS-LE121W.html Or do i need an amp etc...
you need an amp.. all the rca does is send the signal to the amp so the amp knows what to play for music. if your looking for a cheap stereo your best bet is craigslist or ebay
ITS MUCH MORE THAN PLUGGING IN SOME RCA'S... READ SOME RANDOM THREADS AND LEARN UP. YOU NEED AN AMP AND BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF WIRING AND OHM'S... MAYBE NOT SO MUCH OHM'S HELL JUST ASK US IF YOUR SETUP WILL BE COMPATIBLE . ECOUSTICS WILL SCHOOL YOU. WELCOME BRO
kind of made me wonder. would that work? would you get sound through the sub. I've just never done it. Has never occured to me that anyone would even try that. No offense eggcream. Just made me want to run out to my car real quick.
I love the perfect circle and tool. I just meant touching the binding posts with the rca's. or splicing off the ends of the rca's and wiring them like speaker wire. I assume you would. very low volume though. Not really curious enough to try it though.
