Those have a USB and it comes with an ipod cable in the box. i dont know why they took out the usb in a newer model. Also imprint for the 9887 software costs a lot more if your into that.

It has the ability to connect an ipod, but it is done using the "optional" KCE-422i cable. ~$20 for the cable. The CDA-117 is the evolution of the 9886, it has USB connectivity, and comes with the cable to do so. The 9887 is more geared for use with the IMPRINT PXA-H100 DSP, as it has limited internal equalization if i'm not mistaken. Hope this helps

It does come with the KCE-422i cable, but it doesn't come with the USB cable. I wonder why they are trying to push the Full Speed™ connection so hard when a simple USB connection is all it takes to have full connectivity and the ability to charge your ipod...hm
