Friday, May 28, 2010 - 17:34 GMT Alpine makes good head units. That model has 4V preouts, which is good. If it has the features you want, and a price you can handle, go for it.

Saturday, May 29, 2010 - 12:54 GMT Lacks built-in USB, consider the CDA-117 if that's a problem.

Saturday, June 05, 2010 - 06:58 GMT you should try and find a 9886. Those have a USB and it comes with an ipod cable in the box. i dont know why they took out the usb in a newer model. Also imprint for the 9887 software costs a lot more if your into that.

Sunday, June 06, 2010 - 04:35 GMT The CDA-9886 does not have USB, and it does not come with a USB cable. It has the ability to connect an ipod, but it is done using the "optional" KCE-422i cable. ~$20 for the cable. The CDA-117 is the evolution of the 9886, it has USB connectivity, and comes with the cable to do so. The 9887 is more geared for use with the IMPRINT PXA-H100 DSP, as it has limited internal equalization if i'm not mistaken. Hope this helps

Sunday, June 06, 2010 - 15:50 GMT I stand corrected, Alpine's website does not mention USB. It does come with the KCE-422i cable, but it doesn't come with the USB cable. I wonder why they are trying to push the Full Speed connection so hard when a simple USB connection is all it takes to have full connectivity and the ability to charge your ipod...hm
