New member Username: JpodPost Number: 1 Registered: Apr-10 | Hi all. I have a 1998 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. I just installed a Sony Xplod (MEX-BT2800) and it powers up just fine but there's absolutely no sound. Anyone know what might be up? Thanks in advance. JP |

Gold Member Username: IlluminatorUSA Post Number: 5107 Registered: Apr-05 | Can you provide more information about your system setup? It seems like you just hooked it up to the factory speakers. Not sure if you hacked the OEM harness (I hope not), but in case you did: http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/stereodetail/1976.html You might also find an external OEM amplifier hidden in the car... Also, you can test the output by hooking up a home speaker or some other speaker to the rear of the unit to be sure it isn't a wiring or external amp problem. |

I found that diagram you posted the link to and was going to follow that originally, but it was incorrect. I'm guessing you found out because some wires either didn't exist or the unit didn't power on? I'm guessing that between the two guides some wires are incorrect. How do you have the wires hooked up currently? |

New member Username: JpodPost Number: 3 Registered: Apr-10 | Yeah, the wires in the 12volt didn't match up at all. If you look down the column for 1998-2001 in the link I posted, that matched up perfectly, so that's what I used. |
