Wednesday, April 28, 2010 - 13:07 GMT Hey guys, i've been doing a bunch of research and looking up all different types of subs etc etc.. I'm basically looking for a good subwoofer system that can hit the lows in rap songs.. I wanna keep it around $300.. 12"-15" Single or Double Ported + Amp Please let me know if you guys have any suggestions for a good "budget" Subwoofer setup Thanks!

Wednesday, April 28, 2010 - 17:39 GMT with that budget I'd go with used gear, and find something like an alpine type R sub or similar (single), I'd build my own ported box, and go with a used class D mono amp that can deliver about 600 watts RMS into the sub @ 2 ohms, making sure the sub I got was a single 2 ohm, or dual 4 ohm coil model sub. This is all assuming he already has a head unit that has sub pre-outs, or has a LOC for his factory radio.

Thursday, April 29, 2010 - 14:31 GMT I would put the bulk of it towards a decent amp. Then perhaps you would have room to upgrade subs in the near future if need be. Going used is a must with this price range. Check out http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/ for some used deals What gauge wiring do you already have?
