After doing some research I have learned that my '99 Grand Cherokee has an Infinity Gold Stock stereo system with 6 (2 ohm speakers). My question is two fold 1. If I buy a new Head unit at crutchfield.com such as the Alpine cda-105 will it power all 6 speakers (2 dash tweeters, 2 front door woofer, 2 rear full range speakers) and 2. When I replace the speakers will it work to replace the two front door 6x9s with two ways or will some crossover block the highs in the door. Any advice from Grand Cherokee owners is welcome
I have a loaded '01 JGC Limited. If you replace the ehad unit you'll need an interface like the PAC OEM-1 or similar to interface to the amplifier under the passenger side back seat. You cannot connect directly from an aftermarket radio to the Infinity audio system in the Jeep. If you plan to replace the door speakers, too, you'll need to scrap the entire Infinity setup and just go from scratch. new radio, amp(s), speakers, etc..
