why would you say aero ports glasswolf? what advantages do they have over slot port? i have only had 1 aeroport box and it was a custom built box for my tc sounds tc3000 but i didnt really like it and have stuck to slot port since then. just wondering
slots are great for moving a lot of air at high output, but at lower volumes, which is where I listen to the majority of music in the car when driving, you just don't feel the subs as much, in my experience, with a slot port.
^^^^ Exactly. Which is why any serious pro audio loudspeaker will have slot ports. It's let's alot of air escape quickly, and eliminates nearly all "chuffing", aka port noise. But in a car audio config, it let's air escape too quickly, so you lose a bit of the impact and warmth.
It sure is nice to have someone here that doesn't talk out their ass.
aero ports do help reduce or eliminate port whistle though. They really are a god send from the old days of lopping off a length of PVC to make ports back in the day.
Don't want to hyjack the thread.but... I used to get on this forum ALL the time a couple few years ago. Just got back into it. Anytime Glasswolf was typing I was reading. I always learned something. Go with the aero ports joe. Wolf knows his stuff.
hey how do you like that TC 18"? I'm using an Fi Q18 now, myself, sealed with about 1500WRMS. I like running the single sealed sub. really clean and simple, and with adequate power, very deep and still moves a lot of air.
Actually Glasswolf, I just bought another lms 18". its in the "ups brought me a gift" thread. Just down or up a few threads from this one. I can't wait to get both in. best sub i've ever owned hands down. I had the one sealed, I haven't changed subs in two years. Just stuck with the Tc 5400. I just got bored and want to run two ported. Should be pretty impressive.

So at higher volumes the slot port would be more efficient than aero?
Overall there is no big difference between the two?
To add to the comments above, aero's are also useful when space is tight because aero's displace alot less volume than a slot port. So if your tight on space, people usually go with aero's.
