I have a RF p6001db amp that a guy traded to me for some auto parts. I have installed amps before but it has been several years. This amp has a "remote bass" that I'm not familiar with. WHat info can you guys give me about this amp and specifically the "remote bass". Like what cable I need to hook it up, what it does, ect...

GlassWolf, thanks! Although, being the clueless guy I am, I don't see the amp listed on that page?

The remote bass is a wire that hooks up to the amp that then runs to a knob which you adjust to turn your +db up and down. Usually from 0 db - 12 db. Some other important functions on the amp is going to be the gain (input sensitivity) and the cross over. Make sure its set to LPF and is at 80 Hz. The gain control is not a volume guage but rather the amount of voltage the amp is putting out to your sub(s). This should be set correctly.

yup the knob is just a remote control for the driver seat to adjust the bass boost setting on the amp.

the wire will look like a phone jack with two male ends.

it actually IS a phone jack. most remote bass controls I've seen use a standard RJ11 cord.
