Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfColumbia, SC USA Post Number: 12698 Registered: Dec-03 | If your focus is SQ, then drop the rear fill, forget the 6x9s and just spend the money on a good set of 2-way components up front (separates) and spend the difference on fiberglassing some good pods or a set of Qforms for the kick panel area to mount them (better imaging/soundstage than factory speaker locations) Rear fill will destroy your sound stage. also, at least do the 'big 3' with a minimum of 4awg wire. You may also want to call AutoZone or similar to see waht the largest alternator is that they can get for your grand am. Then consider doing a straight swap with a core exchange to have some more juice for those amplifiers. without rear fill, you can bridge that 4 channel amp and put more power to the front stage, or you can run a fully active front stage (2-way) if you have the signal processor to handle that. that's what I'd do anyway. here's some info on rear fill, and why you want to avoid using it: http://www.glasswolf.net/papers/rearfill.html |

The 6x9s are up to you. I'm just not a fan of using rear fill unless you plan to have people in the back seats who want to hear the radio, too. |
