Hello, I'm trying to compile the exact layout of my new system and was wondering if someone could help me out with a recommendation of a stand alone Mid bass Woofer. After looking around I kinda like the Kicker Resolution 8" or the 6 1/2" Kicker Mid Woofer. Are these pretty descent, or can someone recommend me something better.
Thanks everyone.

What've you got so far, and what are you still planning to buy?

I ask because there are a few 3-way component systems that may work out better than getting a 2-way CS + midbass.

Beyond that, Adire has 6.5" mids, Focal has a 5" true sub (yes, for real) and 6" mid, MB Quart and Kenwood have 7"...

Image Dynamics and Morel also make very good midbasses it you don't want a 3-way component set. It'll usually be easier to install the 3-way as the mid is smaller, more options, and in most cases sound better since all the speakers are matched to work together and already come with set crossover points and power handling, so you can just use a 2 channel amp to power the set instead of a 4 channel or 2 seperate amps.

I'm running a set of Infinity Perfect 6.1's in the front, and I'm trying to get some rear fill by adding a set of Midbasses somewhere in the back(I haven't decided a location just yet.... But we'll see. Anyway, thanks for the tips. I'll probably look at the image dynamics, the focal, and the MB Quart ones. Thanks.

You could switch to 3-ways up front and move the Perfects to the back with the tweeter attenuated to -12dB.

It'd cost about the same and give a better result.

hmm... That would increase my front sound stage...

But I think I'd only settle for Focals at this point.

Matt, check out my overall system post on the accessories. Your input is usually helpful.
