Friday, February 12, 2010 - 23:22 GMT For some reason my older thread was taking a while to load (maybe because of 77 posts) so i figured I would just create a new thread with the updated pics. I didn't take pics of the plexi box with the zinc-plated screws in plexi because it started raining again. I updated a couple more pics on my earlier thread a couple days ago if you didnt check it out: https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/612573.html Give me a min to upload the pics.

Saturday, February 13, 2010 - 22:04 GMT It's 3/4" Rovin There is not gonna be any problem with flex. I think i could have gotten away with 1/2" as well and still would have been okay. Thanks Rov!

Monday, February 22, 2010 - 21:01 GMT should have carpeted the inside of the one with the plexi, that would look tight.

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - 02:53 GMT Any reason why your wanting all plexi? I have not done, nor read alot, about all plexi boxes. I know that one plexi enclosure fabricator (forgot the name) used some type of melting technique to melt the two pieces together. I am not sure what he uses though. I could do some research and get back to you.

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - 03:00 GMT the only problem with plexi is you need to use cleats to attach it. drilling into the side is very difficult with plexi unless to have special bits and if you tap all the holes. You could use all glue and clamps but then you need clamps and need to put something between the clamp and the plexi to keep from scratching it.

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - 03:03 GMT just thought it would look cool and thought maybe you could do it. really id like to get an idea what it would cost roughly before I have you do all that research. If it costs to much or is too difficult i might settle for something less demanding

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - 03:23 GMT 3/4" plexi get pretty high in price pretty quickly sean. For example, the plexi i used in these pictures was 15" wide and 6" tall and it cost $45... so it is expensive to do. I could help you work out something as little less dramatic if you want?

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - 03:36 GMT what are you looking to do? there are many different window combo's + paint or carpet combos that you can do to really set off the enclosure as far as looks go.

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - 03:48 GMT I have some connections with some cnc machinests who can do custom engraving in plexi -- if you were thinking of engraving IDMAX in some fancy lettering of some sort? with some led's on the bottom and upper corners of the front baffle of the box to light it up? That might look pretty cool..

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - 04:01 GMT Box would be priced out like this (rough estimate): Box alone = $80 + shipping 3/4" plexi for a window $40 Custom engraving = I would have to call around some places and see what I can do for that. So your looking at $120 + engraving price + shipping (which would not be much for this small of box) How does that sound?
