I got.. 700 watt amp. two 10's in custom made box. phillips 6.5 in in door and sony xplods in rear. now before i had the phillips and sony put in my stock speakers appeared to have blown, so installed the new ones, 10 mins after installed the rear speakers started crackling and making the same exact noise the old ones did and only at high volumes. just like the old ones!!!
if both speakers new and old make the same sound and only at high volume what could it be????
Could be a few things. Speaker quality could be part of it. What is the rating on the speakers? Are you pushing them through the amp? I didn't know philips even made car audio. Also if you're trying to turn it up really loud your deck may be maxed out and distorting the sound.
ok, the speakers that are crackling are the 6x9 sony xplods. the fact that my crappy stocks were doing the same thing im guessing its not the speaker, or quality of speaker. my question is should i get a new cd player?
i have a pioneer 45wx4 so could it be my head unit not pushing enough power, and I'm not sure if the amp is pushing the back speakers but i do know when i fade my speakers to the front it makes it to where the 2 tens are not working. so does that have anything to do with the amp pushing the rear speakers? i didnt install this stuff, im not that savvy.
Did you make a cut out for the 6x9's or were 6x9's already in the back? I made the mistake once of cutting out 6x9 holes in a mustang once then getting metal shavings inside the speaker. Sounded horrible. Super fail
weird..i thought i posted something but didnt show up.
the car was made for 6x9's the cut out was already there but my friend did have to shave a lil on this one part on one side where the speaker wouldnt quite fit. but other than that they fit right in.
im really just questioning the cd players wattage its puhsing
