Need input on box design

You think 40sqin of port area will be sufficient. My trunk opening only allows for a box that is 30 x 15 and I don't know how deep I can go before the box hits the floor and won't allow me to slide it in any further. This is for a 15" AP Axis. With the dimensions the way they are, the sub will have to face upwards and port back or port to the side.
