I am about to be running, 2 p3 Rockford fosgate, 12" subs, i am running fosgate 6 by 9 in parcel shelf. 75 rms 150 max imo under rated.

and front speakers now, i would like to go fosgate, but if there are better suggestions that would be great.

Budgetwise up to $1k on speakers alone

Rockford is quite far from high end. I have used RF myself (about 9 years ago when I didn't know what I was doing):-)

If your budget is 1K you have a multitude of options available. You should consider Seas Lotus Reference set. The new model is very expensive, but if you can get your hands on a brand new previous model then I would not think twice.

Probably the best option (from SQ/price standpoint) is to get raw Scan-Speak drivers from madisound and do an active x-overing. Scan-Speak are used by Alpine F1 and Genesis and if you wanted a ready set from F1 or Genesis you would be looking at a minimum of 5K just for the speakers. However, you can put the set together yourself and get the same result for way less money. That would require two separate 2ch amplifiers (one for the tweets and one for the woofers). The woofers can be either 5.5" or 7", it depends on your mounting situation. Here are the links for the drivers:

7"

5.5"

Tweeters:

So your driver cost for the 2 tweets and 2 woofers would be about $900, but you would need a head unit with and active x-over or a dedicated external x-over like AudioControl. You would have to consult with Madisound when it comes to the most suitable x-over point and slope for those drivers, they are always glad to help. If your audio knowledge isn't great you will also need a professional to tune the system. Well, at the end of the day you will get a true high end speaker system that would cost you thousands more if you went with the "ready to go" option. And yeah, forget about RF, there is absolutely nothing great about their products, it's your standard overpriced Chinese crap.

Enjoy the music:-)
