I wanna see some pics/specs of this too! |
Bronze Member Username: SundownzMooresville, NC USA Post Number: 16 Registered: Nov-06 | It is very efficient. Using two Powermaster D3100s it was a full 1 dB louder at 1 ohm than the SAZ-3500D... which is a full 1 dB louder than the SAZ-3000D. The 3000D was a very proven and powerful amp so that is saying something! It's a GREAT daily amp on music at 1 ohm and still performs great for SPL under 1 ohm and/or at higher voltages up to 18.5v. |

Bronze Member Username: A12voltman80St. paul, Mn Usa Post Number: 34 Registered: Feb-09 | why use all the cheap transformers instead of a few good ones? are you a broker or a manufacture? seems like you pick a amp out of zenon's catalog and then pre sale them with out even having them. that is a broker or a distributor. I was looking at one of your subwoofers then you did not send it in for the 15 inch challenge, why? |
Bronze Member Username: SundownzMooresville, NC USA Post Number: 17 Registered: Nov-06 | The multiple transformer setup is more efficient. If you look at our older 3000D it had two large transformers - the new 3500D has four smaller ones and the 4500D uses eight smaller ones. I sent in our Z15 woofer to the challenge, FYI. When I was contacted for the challenge we didn't have any Nightshade motors in stock to build them up. Also... most of our amps are in stock - when we introduce a new model we have pre-sales to get them out to customers. Unless they sell out instantly like the 3500s they are kept in stock after the initial pre-order. |
Silver Member Username: WickedbassNashville, Tn Post Number: 645 Registered: Jan-08 | Jacob, what are the physical dimensions of this amp. I asked on a different forum in the same type of thread but maybe you just missed it. |
Bronze Member Username: SundownzMooresville, NC USA Post Number: 19 Registered: Nov-06 | Must have missed it - final production width and height are pending as we are working on the final details of our heat-sink for this amp. The case it is currently in is a "generic" case. The length will remain the same at 27.25" from the edges of the mounting feet on the end panels. I don't like having the FETs vertical with clips - we'll be laying them down flat like our other amps with the new casing so it'll be wider than our other series amps. Before ordering opens I'll have the details ![]() |
Silver Member Username: WickedbassNashville, Tn Post Number: 649 Registered: Jan-08 | Thanks man! Seems like a beast of an amp but I think its gonna be a bit to big (physically) to replace the amp I have now. |
Silver Member Username: PoprocksPost Number: 223 Registered: Mar-09 | Sounds like the SAZ-4500D is a done deal. |
