Gold Member Username: TejcurrentPost Number: 1819 Registered: Apr-07 | "I believe you will end up somewhere between 147 and 152, but what do I know? 160 and I'll send you $5" "I think you will have a lot of trouble getting over 53 without throwing a lot more power in there." |
Gold Member Username: DeadrabitMarionville, MO Post Number: 1862 Registered: Jun-07 | haha. getting over 153 wont be hard. i tried tunning to the 1/4 wave and it didn't work at all. my hit note was 65Hz and it is louder when it is tuned lower... plus it doesn't sound like poo. after testing and some small changes we will see what i hit |
Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 4139 Registered: Nov-04 | wouldnt it make sense to use the 1/4 wave of the frequency your car resonates at? not just some random frequency |

Gold Member Username: DeadrabitMarionville, MO Post Number: 1864 Registered: Jun-07 | "wouldnt it make sense to use the 1/4 wave of the frequency your car resonates at? not just some random frequency" that is what i did last week. it was not loudest using it though. it was kinda weird. has any one else used 1/4 wave and found it to gain spl? my hit note was 2Hz high . i have not had time to mess with it as much as i would like but 67 should be 1/4 from the front dash to the wall. its almost like 1/4 made it worse but idk! i can't say anything for sure because ihave not tested many other Hz yet. but tuned to 40Hz was louder than 69Hz and 1/4 is 67 as i measured |
Bronze Member Username: SundownzMooresville, NC USA Post Number: 40 Registered: Nov-06 | With my current double woofer box in the Jeep I am louder tuned to 35 Hz than to 45 Hz... my actual vehicle peak is 53 Hz but this box peaks at 48 Hz regardless of what the math says the port is tuned to (I cut it down several times and tested). SPL can be weird |
Gold Member Username: DeadrabitMarionville, MO Post Number: 1871 Registered: Jun-07 | ur right! i have seen people round of corners and it loose a few tenth of a dbs. this is y i think ill get such high numbers i don't mind taking the time and trying everything i can think of. jacob what do u have? |
Bronze Member Username: SundownzMooresville, NC USA Post Number: 45 Registered: Nov-06 | Honestly it looks pretty good - with more power I am sure it will keep climbing. You could try talking to Gary F on Team Sundown as well - his setup is doing great numbers with similar power : http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=28494 I, personally, don't have a whole lot of experience with wall setups but maybe he can help. |
