whats up guys. just picked up some rd audio sonance v1 promo subs wit hthe paper cone from patrick simmons from ca.com. im gonna match those with my massive audio p1500.1. just need to order 1 or two odyssey 1500 batteries and a custom box and im set. what do you guys think? pretty decent set-up? i think ill be happy with it. Those subs are supposed to have some good spl for their power handeling.
Sounds like a pretty good setup. The only thing i would change is the amp. Massive audio is a good brand but their amps are a little power hungry. I would go with a audioque 1200d or if you have the money A Sundown 1500d.
The only person your setup should matter to is you. Do what you like or what you want to do.
yea i heard they were a bit power hungry after i bought it lol ill probably ride it out until i save up for a different amp. i plan on upping my power in the future so once this set-up is installed im going to start saving for a high output alt and a second odyssey battery. this set-up ill have for probably a year or so then next summer i plan to jump in the 2500 watt range once i learn what im doing and spend some more time on this site lol this is an expensive hobby btw... when i get everything in my hands ill post pics of the build progress. thanks for the help guys
and tig o bitties yea im gonna get a box made either from some one locally (any one from jersey hit me up) or fisher customs. any suggestions of what ot tune the box to? i want some really good spl but to still sound decent. 38hz?
i could do that. but getting an alt installed costs an arm and a leg and i dont know anyone who could install it for me for cheap. so i was gonna get two batteries for now (one replacing my stock) so my massive audio amp would be getting fed enough power for the time i have it. what do you think i should do?
Well, you'll be fine as long as you don't run those batteries too low. When they do you'll be lucky if you don't blow your alternator completely, especially in the winter. I've been working on a Caddy Catera that had a system in it and in the winter with the heat on he ended up blowing the alternator and now quite a few things are ruined. It's a nightmare of a car. The heater blower wiring is f ucked and the 12volt ignition for the radio is shot as well.
