im thinking about getting either aq sdc2.5 12s or re se 12s to replace my kicker cvr 12s. the aqs and re are 600 rms and my kickers are 400 rms. will the be a noticable difference? second question how do the sdc2.5s and the re se 12s compare.quality and sound wise. which is the better of the two?

well the sd2.5s that i have don't sound all that great but the get loud. i would go with the sd2.5s over the se subs. i did and i am happy with it.
one thing u could look at is an american bass sub. it is the XD series. it is just as effective as the sd2.5 around 500 watts but it can handle more power if it needed it. or at least this is what i have been told.
im not to sure if i believe it but i might get my hands on one to see if they are as good as this guy says.

i would get the sd2.5 is what i say

The CVR's are NOT bad subs, for the price you can get them for they are great budget bangers.

The quality of the AQ,RE is hands down better than CVR's.

Have you tried changing boxes for your CVR's?

What amp will you be using?

If it were me I would go with the cheapest of the two.

The AQ dont sound bad, the RE sound better.

im goin to change the box now. in the process of building one. i have a hifonics brutus 1210d. it spefies it pushes 1200 rms at 1 ohm and 900 at 2 ohm. i have my subs wired to a 2 ohm load. if i get the aq or re ill get 4 ohm voice coils. wire them parallel/ parallel and run a 1 ohm load.

dblk, you are contradicting yourself here. you said they dont sound that great, but are recommending them over the SEs... Have you ever heard the SEs??? if not then your recommendation is just a guess and uneducated.

Zack w, many will tell you that the SEs are better because they are loud and sound great. Many rave about them so i would suggest going with the SEs. I have not heard either one (sdcs or SEs) but have heard more people liking their SEs than AQs.

geez. and you wonder why I am always.... fugg it.

dBLK. Just build your chit and quit giving advice. You do that and I will never say anything bad about you. That is my only problem as I am sure a lot will agree. You are usually completely off the mark and always wrong.
Just make your threads and read other posts to learn. you are a long way from being able to give knowledgeable answers.

thanks

The AQ and RE are a lot better then the Kicker. One thing you need to keep in mind is that you need to build the proper box for your subs, tuning and proper amount of power.

I sell RE and I have AQ in my car. Everyone aorund here buys RE SEs and they do sound really good but only slightly better than the AQ sub. My single AQ is louder than any two sub setups with RE SEs.

stick with the AQ

ya i had some CVRs in a pretty big box and they were loud for the price but only hit really low notes. the higher end bass was horrible.

but i know a kid with the REs and hes runnin them on a 1600 rms hifonics amp. idn how much power it puts out but its deffinately loud as *beep*. the only thing is either the subs dont sound too good or his car just makes it sound bad...not sure

finally i know a dude with two 15 inch american bass XFLs I THINK and they are louder and sound better than the REs.

a single sd2.5 isn't going to get louder than 2 SEs .. i run a pair of SEs and heard many many setups running SEs

they get loud, they get low, and sound great...

and yes, it will drop quite a bit lower than the AQ :-)

"I sell RE and I have AQ in my car.

I don't understand why dealers/people sell brands and use other brands that they don't carry.

"My single AQ is louder than any two sub setups with RE SEs."

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Sorry to thread jake but dont want to start a new thread.

Does anyone know what authorized RE dealers sell RE SE 10"12"15" for?
