and can install a high output alternator. They charge like 300 bucks just to install at some places. I'm thinking of buying a 220a ho alt and paying some one local to do it for like 70 bucks maybe? anyone interested? the car is a 2002 chevy malibu

With a HO alternator a big 3 is critical also.... thats a few hours work there to do it right.... I highly doubt you'll get that done for $70
With shop labor rates today $200 would be reasonable
