New member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 3 Registered: May-09 | where can i purchase these? never even heard of them... are they good subs? |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6590 Registered: Nov-05 | great little 8s.. you can find some used on caraudio.com classifieds http://www.sundownaudio.com/ |
New member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 4 Registered: May-09 | what amp do you think i should use to run them.. i was looking at rockford fosgate powers to run subs and door speakers.... |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6591 Registered: Nov-05 | anything that does between 600-1000rms at 1.3ohm those 8s are under-rated |
New member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 5 Registered: May-09 | they do sound good though right, i'm way more interested in SQ than SPL |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6592 Registered: Nov-05 | yes, quite low FS for an 8" as well |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin1 15 = 149.5 DBs ...Trinidad & T... Post Number: 15026 Registered: Jul-05 | if ur going sundown subs u might as well get the sundown amps ...some gr8 products .... |
Gold Member Username: JkidderWorlds gunna end, In 2012 Post Number: 4112 Registered: Nov-05 | whats your price range. those are nice subs (going by what i've heard) but theres certainly better out there. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6597 Registered: Nov-05 | want better? run a pair of RE SE 10"s.. mounting depth is exactly 6" but you need to leave room under the pole vent pair of IDQ10s would be nice as well |
New member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 6 Registered: May-09 | no $$ limit, just want a great sounding system. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6600 Registered: Nov-05 | no money limit and your looking at RF? after the next few posts you will soon have a money limit lol |
Gold Member Username: JkidderWorlds gunna end, In 2012 Post Number: 4113 Registered: Nov-05 | saying no $ limit is dumb. i can suggest something you surely can't afford. do you have an amp yet? i can suggest a couple very nice packages. |
Gold Member Username: Tatonka-[Team Audible Insanity]- Post Number: 2949 Registered: Mar-07 | The DD1508 is a mean sub and would work perfect if you have the right power. |
New member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 7 Registered: May-09 | Well I would not want to pay more than 2k on subs and an amp so anything under that would be excellent! |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6604 Registered: Nov-05 | for that kinda money why not get a fiberglass enclosure made to utilize max volume, perhaps you may be able to run a deeper sub? put the seats on risers also.. |
New member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 8 Registered: May-09 | 6" is the max depth. The subs will be behind the rear seats.. no room underneath because there is some storage trunks under there. I took my truck by the local JL dealer and they said 6" was the absolute most they could squeeze out of it and that was with removing some of the rear seat foam. So I was planning on a custom box for the rear anyway. |
New member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 9 Registered: May-09 | maybe my price range is wrong and they were just trying to rip me off.. they were wanting 1200 for custom box with two2 10W3V3 with no amp... |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6605 Registered: Nov-05 | WOW .. i'd say they were going to pocket a lot of money on that deal |
New member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 10 Registered: May-09 | so what set-up should i go with?? sundowns, i don't think the re's will work due to their depth, or the IDQ's or are there other possibilities out there?? |
Gold Member Username: Drant19DUB-C, TX Post Number: 1665 Registered: Aug-07 | i say stick with the sundowns... they are beefy lil 8s. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6607 Registered: Nov-05 | 3 E8s on a SAZ-1000D .. comps on a SAX-100.4D |
Bronze Member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 11 Registered: May-09 | sorry to keep questioning, but all this is new to me, the sundown 8s will sound better than the image dynamics 10Qs? |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6608 Registered: Nov-05 | that is one of those things subject to you.. you may buy multiple items before you find something you like.. SQ is a different game I've gone through lots of equipment before I settled on something both are great choices.. the IDQs needs less power.. both will sound great |
Bronze Member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 12 Registered: May-09 | if i go with the IDQs should i still run the sundown amps? |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6609 Registered: Nov-05 | up to you, they make good products if you wanted to spend more i'd suggest some DLS Ultimate Series.. very nice amps.. love mine.. sexy/clean |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6610 Registered: Nov-05 | ... they also do cover subs and components if you wanted to do all matching very natural reproduction of the recordings.. thats why i finally settled on DLS equipment, just pricey |
Bronze Member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 13 Registered: May-09 | should i run 6.5 midbass drivers in the rear doors and just 6.5" components in the front, or should i do components front and rear? |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6613 Registered: Nov-05 | you don't even need anything in the back.. i'd just leave the stock in the rear powered off the h/u.. spend all the money up front seeing you have a nice budget, i'd suggest kickpods.. once you have a setup like that youll never go back to door locations it makes that much difference in sound and soundstage |
Bronze Member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 14 Registered: May-09 | mmm what are kickpods lol? And is CDT audio good for SQ component speakers or should I go with the DLS as they are similar in price... Not the DLS neodiums however; just the UP6's |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6614 Registered: Nov-05 | I'd take DLS over CDT.. I've ran both.. and actually putting a set of CDT CL-CFs in my wifes wagon.. only reason I'm doing the CDTs is because I needed a very loud component the DLS sound way better.. I run the nobeliums |
Bronze Member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 15 Registered: May-09 | Could i Just run a full image dynamics system with two IDQ10s, do you think i'd be happy with that, and just upgrade as i go on? or should i atleast get better components? |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinTeam DLSSuperNatural... Post Number: 6615 Registered: Nov-05 | ID makes some decent components as well |
Bronze Member Username: SqlaudiophilePost Number: 16 Registered: May-09 | ok, and what would be a good HU to get that can control just the front speakers, just the rear speakers, and just the subs?? Should I get an EQ as well? |
