Bronze Member Username: Roemeo345Post Number: 25 Registered: Feb-09 | hope this isnt dumb question have starchoice eliptical 60E with samsung lnbf dual satellite switchable ku lnbf linear polarization will this dish work with flu or captiveworks for 110 or 119 if it will how to aim thanks |
Gold Member Username: PlymouthCanada Post Number: 8967 Registered: Jan-08 | Steve If your LNB is a Linear, you can't get 100-119 with it but a circular LNB. |
Platinum Member Username: NydasPost Number: 14980 Registered: Jun-06 | Steve - Starchoice Dish is similar to DTV Dish. You can definitely get either 110 or 119 and you might get both on one Dishpro LNB. Or you may try taping a second LNB (poorman's solution) You would not beable to use any of the Starchoice LNBs |

Bronze Member Username: McrabbycabbyWpg, Man Canada Post Number: 88 Registered: Jun-06 | what is echo9/13 ? just wondering |
Silver Member Username: JoeturnPost Number: 279 Registered: Apr-06 | It is a pre-programed scan that will allow twice as many transponders along with 121(globecast) a task that anik wont allow!! Just Wondering PS ALL DBS LNBs ARE COMPATIBLE this includes starchoice!! Linear/Circular has nothing to do with anything anymore because the transponders transmitts both polaritys at once now for every channel, so you will recieve either or just select the best type(greastest quality) in antenna set up! |
Gold Member Username: PlymouthCanada Post Number: 8981 Registered: Jan-08 | Joeturn What are you talking? Linear and circular are not compatible, you will lose too much signal for get channels. Vertical and Horizontal aren't same thing than Right and Left. You have to learn a little. |
Silver Member Username: JoeturnPost Number: 282 Registered: Apr-06 | there was never a right and left You will wake up one of these days and realize it is all technobabble!! This thread explains why DTV discontinued vertical ports!!!!! |
Gold Member Username: PlymouthCanada Post Number: 8985 Registered: Jan-08 | joeturn Please post a suitable and reliable reason why you says it. Your link is too long to read and give no good reason. |

Silver Member Username: RiconissanPost Number: 722 Registered: Feb-09 | Good one! |
Silver Member Username: JoeturnPost Number: 284 Registered: Apr-06 | Suave Thats all technobabble it was sales fodder .Since transponders transmits all polarities at once you dont need a specific type LNB!! You only need to know how to determine which is the best packet oriented LNB setting in antenna set up! |
Silver Member Username: RiconissanPost Number: 726 Registered: Feb-09 | Come on Joe, I have been down this road. I have 3 or 4 linear LnB laying around. I invite you to set my receiver for these. |
Gold Member Username: PlymouthCanada Post Number: 8988 Registered: Jan-08 | Please guys read it and learn how it work http://sv1bsx.50webs.com/antenna-pol/polarization.html You can't get both signal (linear and circular) without lose many db. |
Silver Member Username: RiconissanPost Number: 729 Registered: Feb-09 | Plymouth, Thanks for the link. |
Silver Member Username: JoeturnPost Number: 286 Registered: Apr-06 | Come on Joe, I have been down this road. I have 3 or 4 linear LnB laying around. I invite you to set my receiver for these. Sounds like you went down the road "most" traveled. Where did you get soo many linear LNBs and for what purpose? Could they all be damaged? My rule of thumb is if it came with the providers equiptment it is the best for the job, they wont furnish funky LNBs to their subscribers. I bought a universal LNB with a 36"multisat dish.I replaced it with a DTV lnb and things couldn't be better>>Keeping in mind that I dont care for 25 sats or 2000 channels as three sats and 600 channels are way too much for me! The files you used to get included all the channels but in order for you to view them you had to change your LNB setting to match your specs for better quality. After I posted I could get more if I scanned my own they started sending the files without channels. They still have their set up on them though!I never have to change a thing anymore since I have tested the field and found what I was satisfied with! |
Gold Member Username: PlymouthCanada Post Number: 8996 Registered: Jan-08 | joeturn Your answer do not explain how use one LNB for Circular and linear as you says. I will not replaced my "funky LNB" by another one. |
Silver Member Username: JoeturnPost Number: 292 Registered: Apr-06 | Plymouth you've been brain washed, must have been a wild drop or a bird flew over! LINEAR means VERTICAL CIRCULAR means HORRIZONTAL DVB transmitts BOTH, soo if all polarities are collected by the dish why should you have to have a specific LNB type?? If you ever get your hands on an old Primestar LNB it will show that POS you have up! You must run a V/H multiswitch with it is the only draw back!! |
Gold Member Username: PlymouthCanada Post Number: 8999 Registered: Jan-08 | joeturn Give me a good link because I don't see nothing of it on web. joeturn It seems you lose something, on a motorized dish you put only one LNB and this LNB need to be on perfect focus of dish for get all satellite available. Linear mean: Vertical = low voltage +-11.5 volts Horizontal = high voltage +- 15.5 volts Circular mean: Right = low voltage +-11.5 volts Left = high voltage +- 15.5 volts As you can see circular use both: Vert. and horiz. the delay between 2 wave give right or left hand. Vertical: Horizintal Right Left |
