Using a generic special LNB designed for reception of 118/119.

These are available for about $20 from various sources. One brand is labeled CB2008A. There are a couple of other brands as well. One available from Transat Electronics of Toronto is also good.

THINGS COMMON TO THESE GENERIC LNBs.

They always require at least a 30', and preferably 33' dish.
They usually have two outputs, one each for two receivers.
Each output is good for 119W and for 118.7W.
You can therefore have a cheap standard LNB for 110W and use its two outputs on two DisEqC switches for two receivers to get 110/118/119. You can also add two other sats, if you want to, on the remaining two Inputs of each of the two DisEqC switches. I saw an installation of two neighbours using one 33' Dish with the special LNB and three 20' dishes using standard LNBs for 110W, 61.5W and 91W. They pooled their old resources to come up with a four sat solution for both houses without using fancy switches. They use two (4 to 1) DisEqC switches. What is good for two neighbours for one TV in each of their living rooms, is also good for a family with a TV set in the bedroom and in the living room.

SETTING UP THE RECEIVERS.

You get BOTH 118 and 119 on one input of the DisEqC switch, so in your Antenna setup, you must use the same DisEqC number (usually Port 1 input) for the Anik F3 slate (118.7W) and for the Echo 7 (119W) slate.

Method 1:
The two slates are separate in this method. If you can't see a separate slate for Anik F3 in your pre-2008 receiver, use the Anik F2 slate OR ANY OTHER SPARE SLATE.

For Echo 7 (119W) scan use
LNB type: Standard
LNB Freq. 11250
DisEqC switch Port 1 (usually)
First TP in the TP list 12239(H) (or 12224(V) optional) and do a scan all
To do a Blind scan you do not need anything in the TP list, but nice to put in one number there.

For Anik F3 (118.7W) scan use
LNB type: Standard
LNB Freq. 10750
DisEqC switch Port 1 (same as used in 119W)
First TP in the TP list 11715(V) and do a scan all
To do a Blind scan you do not need anything in the TP list, but nice to put in one number there.

Note that this method is more suitable for "Scan all". A blind scan may bring in Channels from the "other" Sat.

Method 2:
Use only one slate in this method. Use the Echo 7 (119W) slate.
LNB type: Universal 2
LNB Freq. 9750-10750 (use whatever your receiver automatically brings up)

DisEqC switch Port 1 (usually)
First TP in the TP list 11715(V) and do a scan all, but make sure you do not have any other TPs in the list or ALL the TPs in the combined Anik F3/Echo 7 list as published in Lyngat.
Usually you would do a Blind scan under this method (Universal2 LNB) and you do not need anything in the TP list, but nice to put in 11715(V) there. You may get as many as 64 TPs and some extraneous ones in there. You will also most likely get TP numbers that are different from the Lyngsat list. These numbers will be off by 150 or by 500 or by 650. Do not worry. Compare with the Lyngsat list and write down your own table of TP values.

Other methods:
You may try two separate 'scan all' using settings in method1 but both in the same slate.

You may also use Universal1 and do a Blind scan '" you might get better results.

Individual TP scans:
They will usually work well under LNB type as 'Standard'. If you are using Universal 1 or Universal2 setting, the TP number might vary by 150, 500 or 650. To arrive at the real TP number for YOUR set up, look at the TPs where you are getting recognizable channels and after comparing with the Lyngsat list, you will be able to arrive at the subtraction/addition number for your setup.
