Thursday, April 09, 2009 - 03:13 GMT ~600w RMS at 2 ohm is what that amp will actually do. Hifonics amps are overrated.

Friday, April 10, 2009 - 00:12 GMT those amps do 3/4 of the power they claim at best.... you should have reseached/asked before you bought it

Friday, April 10, 2009 - 00:20 GMT yeah but i heard that they only do 3/4 at the 1 ohm power output. heard the rms ratings were fine for the 2 ohm load.....

Friday, April 10, 2009 - 00:29 GMT M.S. is right, Erik. Think about it, that amp claims 900rms @ 2 ohms. Thats what it really does at 1 ohm. So in reality, you are gonna get about 500-600rms @ 2ohm, and thats before box rise, which this amp reacts horribly to.

Friday, April 10, 2009 - 00:49 GMT Your impedance will change xx amount depending on the frequency you are playing, so the power you are receiving will vary. Your ohm load doesn't get lower, only higher. That is what we call box rise.

Friday, April 10, 2009 - 01:04 GMT Not exactly. Amps react differently to it. All in all, you got the wrong amp to run at 2 ohms.
