Mini/ inexpensive Amplifiers?

I can honestly say that because I've owned 2 of their products. The TubeHead pre-amp blew up my 2k speakers, and the Fubar III phone jack only works on the left side if you fiddle with the cord. Stay away. Junk.

I haven't heard them, but Pro-Ject makes very good products for the money. Another good option is a PC with a USB DAC to a Trends T-Amp. Been there, done that and the results were good.

Great sound quality and well built. I own a Pro-Ject turntable and speed box. I haven't heard those specific components, but judging by their track record I'd be willing to bet they're as good as everything else. I'm contemplating the tuner.
