anybody know how accurate the microphone is? i'm assuming audiocontrol makes a better product than walmarts mic. i'm not thinking about getting one, i was just checking out ac's stuff and saw it.
The accuracy will depend on the frequency as well. I was gonna buy one a a couple weeks ago. Tried to get it for 100+shipping off a guy on CA but he said no lol.
not a TL = useless as a DB meter.... really not that hard to figure out haha. Many have tried and none have succeded at making a DB meter as accutate as the TL.
Yea I guess if you just want a new toy, but its dang expensive for that.
As for inaccuracy those can be off by as much as 10 db.... it varies with what frequencey is played..... which is why they are also useless for EQ tuning.

Some ammatures have used them as a spl tuning aid. The number of dbs is useless, Its the change in them that help.
Say you have your box port up, subs back, and it reads 120db's off a 50hertz tone. Then you do sub and ports up, And it changes to 122db. Then you change the freq to 40 hertz and it goes to 118.
From that you will know that at 50 hertz tone, sub and ports up is the best spl increase tested.
The number of DB it shows is irrelevent, its the ups and donws that may help you.
