RE makes GREAT subs !

have worked with 10" SE & 10 & 12" SX , heard 12" SR & 12" XXX

SE - running 2 10s sealed for the past 9mths ...smooth \ sweet SQ & did 139.8db too , have tried them in ported as well but love it even more in sealed

Sx - obviously louder than SE but doesnt drop as low ...still very smooth

heard a sealed 12" SR which wass really nice

recent heard a ported 12" xxx which was damn low & body pounding

u cannot go wrong with any RE sub ...

running two RE SE 12"s in my SQ setup.. pretty balanced driver.. picks up on the 18hz notes well and does continue to have a fairly flat response...

also own two RE SX 15"s.. they are prolly 60/40 spl/sq ... great street beat drivers.. they can take a lot more than rms in the correct build and given clean power.. best i did in a street setup was a 151.6dB @ 49hz on 3600rms out of the trunk of my jetta..

on to my 04/05 XXXs.. 12" and a 15" .. both very acurate and kill the low end.. very balanced/flat.. if you want an extreme SQL driver.. this would be the one... insane sq but can hang with the sxs in spl

current setup.. two SE 12"s on a DLS A6

Hey Kev, I was actually considering going with 1-SE15 D4 on an eD NINe.1... Can get a good deal here at a local shop. I recently had a 15" Mag ported @ 29hz... box was actually smaller than recommended though. Just wondering, how is the output of the SE, especially since I'm STRONGLY considering going sealed this time around with the 15?

Sorry if I appear to be threadjacking, just felt it was appropriate since we are talking RE!

output is good.. it won't match up to the mag since you will be running less power and sealed

if your getting the nine.1 i'd recommend just getting two RE SE 12"s and running them sealed.. that would be the better setup

I was thinking the same thing about 2 12"s...But here is the thing, I've never had a sealed setup and wanted to try either with a New Mag v3(can get another one for $250) or either the SE15 (brand new for $160!!). The shop has a Dealer's Price sale going on, but they don't have the 12"s to sell.

I already have the NINe.1, just stuck on sub choice. So in comparison IYHO, Mag vs. SE sealed??? Ported???

You say "the new Mag V3". The newest Mag (shallow mount with xbl^2) is actually the Mag V4. The V3 resembles the looks of a Fi Q. So which one are you running or looking to run?

I'm running a Mag V3 in a fairly large sealed box and I'm pretty happy with it. It is my second favorite sub (RL-S ftmfw) that I have heard, granted the list isn't that big. The SQ on it is great and it kills the lows (apparently the V4 has even better low-end and even better SQ). I metered a 135.0 at 41hz I think it was. About 5 people on here have heard my set-up and they all were impressed with the Mags output and SQ even in the large sealed box. A couple of them were surprised my score wasn't higher but hey, life goes on.

Unfortunately, I never got to run my v3 in a sealed box, haters stole it in a matter of 8 months! lol But the ported box that I had it in would have been a nice big box sealed, instead of a small ported box! lol I liked how it sounded, but I could tell that I wasn't getting all that it offered. Thats why I'm probably gonna get this "New" v3 from a guy I know! lol Thanks for the mini-review though!

i'm about to go from 1 15" TC3k back to 2 12s and i'm going with sealed se's....just throwing that out there, either way, one 15" mag, one 15" re se, or 2 12" se's will kill and sound clean doing it
