Silver Member Username: M0nkeyman692Post Number: 584 Registered: Feb-07 | that box could be bigger if you wanted to gain some spl. |
Silver Member Username: M0nkeyman692Post Number: 585 Registered: Feb-07 | also if you juuust got it then let it break in cause it will get significantly louder after that too |
Silver Member Username: PoundhardhehPalmerston, Ontario Canada Post Number: 162 Registered: Oct-08 | Biggest box able to fit in the car. Will the SPL increase quite a bit after being broke in? |
Gold Member Username: MendonmafiaUSA Post Number: 1755 Registered: Aug-06 | subs take a while to break in properly dont expect the sub to get to potential for up to 60 hours of play time if you break it in properly. that was about a month of driving for me. |
Silver Member Username: PoundhardhehPalmerston, Ontario Canada Post Number: 163 Registered: Oct-08 | Ok after I break the sub in. What else is there I can do to help it pound alot harder? Read the top and tell me what thing I should do first? |
Silver Member Username: M0nkeyman692Post Number: 597 Registered: Feb-07 | Also smaller cars get louder in comparison to larger cars so being In his car would sound louder when in it |

Gold Member Username: Drant19DUB-C, TX Post Number: 1453 Registered: Aug-07 | the w7 and HO box is a D@MN nice system so beatingg it with th same power will be hard to do, especially in a larger vehicle. 90% of the sound from a system is install dependent. maybe try a different box and tune higher.the BL can take more than 1krms. however, you will need twice as much power to hear an audible difference. twice as much power means you will need a new alt, battery, and Big3 upgrades. how bad do you really want to be louder? getting loud isnt just about hookin up everything right, its about experimenting and finding what does best in YOUR vehicle. p.s. dont try to be louder than your friend, try to find the sound YOU want and like |
Silver Member Username: PoundhardhehPalmerston, Ontario Canada Post Number: 164 Registered: Oct-08 | Stupid question for you guys. Since I'm powering my BL with a JL 1000/1 can I set my bass boost pretty high and my input level almost full? Do I have to worry about blowing the BL with this amp since the BL can take more than 1000 watts? |
Gold Member Username: Snowball123West Allis, WI Post Number: 2460 Registered: Oct-07 | bass boost should be turned off all the time. |
Silver Member Username: PoundhardhehPalmerston, Ontario Canada Post Number: 165 Registered: Oct-08 | Ok, why is that? Fully off? |
Gold Member Username: SomedonniedudeIllinois Braaap MX Post Number: 2431 Registered: May-07 | ^^^Why is that snow? Bass boost won't physically hurt a single thing just because it is on. And KT why would he need a new head unit lol? "you will need twice as much power to hear an audible difference". ^^^Where the h3ll did you hear that? It would depend greatly on the setup, way too general comment. How did you set your gain? Wait at least a week or so for the sub to break in before doing anything drastic. You have a much bigger vehicle that a Durango like Arbaca said, that will make some difference. Try putting the W7 in your vehicle on your amp if you want to do something, but other than just wait it out. Where does your voltage stand with that amp? Just curious. |
Silver Member Username: PoundhardhehPalmerston, Ontario Canada Post Number: 166 Registered: Oct-08 | Can anyone help with the settings for the JL 1000/1? for the BL 15". Just give me an idea would be helppful. |

Gold Member Username: SomedonniedudeIllinois Braaap MX Post Number: 2438 Registered: May-07 | JL has a tutorial for setting up that amp, I don't remember the url, just google it. And snow I'm just giving you a hard time about BB lol, I know what you meant. keep the BB low (I personally keep it off), if the gain is set properly it shouldn't be needed. Read up a bit about BB before you use. |
