Sunday, February 01, 2009 - 17:04 GMT stryvn - where did you find Gdansk in vinyl? Jack Johnson John Lee Hooker Pink Floyd Dire Straits Emma Dead Can Dance The usual suspects, messing with conditioner and power cable, Shunyata Guardian Pro 2 and Venom power cable. That and the ICs (MIT) and speaker wire (ocos) modifications. I will post in accessories when I am ready. Still stirring the pot on all of the above. So I have not idea what Art is talking about with his assertion that I am constantly tweaking... LOL

Sunday, February 01, 2009 - 23:01 GMT More Gdansk. Wot's uh, ...the deal? I ordered it from Musicdirect.com, Mike. Around $120 (after shipping and all) but well worth the coin! It is very good. I've seen it priced lower at other web sites recently, but I trust Musicdirect. And Floyd - The Final Cut vinyl on now.

Mike and Stryvn, you both play a lot of Floyd and Floyd solo material so I was wondering how do you compare MLOR to their other releases? Personally its my least played PF album, though I do like it, just not as much as their others. Louis Armstrong - Definitive Collection - $3 pickup and brand new at that.

Sunday, February 15, 2009 - 12:14 GMT The MLOR doesn't really work for me, SEM. I have it in the collection but it RARELY gets played. I remember when this album came out and it really sorta turned me off of Pink Floyd... I thought they were done. On The Turning Away has a nice sound to it, but overall it seemed the Gilmour sound had given way to airwave desires. BUT, having said that, I think the MLOR tracks played live on PULSE are pretty damn good. Sorrow is one of the albums highlights, in my mind. The studio album usually just sits in the "P" section of the cd's next to the other Floyd stuff and doesn't come out much. I borrowed a Time/Life cd collection from my wife's cousin a few weeks ago. Singers and Songwriters... a series of 11 double discs that covers all those singer/songwriters from the 60's up to 1982. You know, Michael Martin Murphy and Phoebe Snow and Ambrosia and Franki Valli and Jim Croce and Donovan...lol. Me and the Mrs. grooved out last night. It wasn't all good but it was good for a few laughs and flashbacks.

Sunday, February 15, 2009 - 13:01 GMT Ahh, Ambrosia. I had always heard that there was a lot more to them than their radio hits - "Biggest part of Me" and "How Much I feel" etc. So I picked up a bunch of their albums a while back. Very impressive debut (s/t) album, playing now. Nice, nice, very nice.
