My RS-232 cable

The other type is called a Null modem cable. The PINs 2 and 3 are switched there. More receivers use Null Modem cable. If the cable you have does not work, you will either have to buy a DB9 F/F cable or buy a DB9 M/F Null adaptor. The null cable will work directly or the null adaptor and you original cable will become a null cable.
