TREO SSX or Fi BTL???

Hey guys, I'm planning on upgrading my current sub setup: (Kicker CVX 15" dual 2ohm running off a Crossfire vr1000d at 1ohm) to either two Treo SSX 15's or two Fi BTL 15's. My local shop, which is an authorized dealer, will sell me two SSX 15's for $1000 out the door. And I looked at Fi's website, and the BTL's are $470ea. with the configuration I want. I'd also appreciate any advice on an amp or amps. I'm considering either two US Amps AX2000 or two Zapco 9.0x. This setup will be in a '96 Chevy Caprice Wagon. I'm running an Alpine IVA-D300, Crossfire vr354, and Diamond Audio D651s components off a stock battery and alternator, if it helps. I realize that this much of an upgrade will require a charging system upgrade, so any advice in that area would be great. Thanks.

Would the SSX be capable of producing the same SPL as the BTL? From what I've herd the BTL is pretty much a straight SPL sub, where as the SSX is more of an SQL sub that's very capable of producing sum good SPL. Does this sound right?

Also, I often listen to my stereo with the engine off, so when I get these 15's how should I upgrade my electrical system? Battery/ Alternator recommendations, etc.?

big 3, HO alt, a second battery... You may be able to get away without doing all of those, just keep an eye on your voltage.

big 3, alty, and id say for daily id go with 2 batts in that back and a good one under the hood. the btl isnt a bad driver. im not too big of a fn of how they sound, the ssx i think is a much better bet, but 500 a piece is a lot of money.imo.
imo go kicker hyperflex 0ga, a mechman alty, and either powermaster bats or odessey 2150 (stinger bats is the same) or if they arent in your budget go deka. or northstar nsb90s.

What amperage alternator should I get?

Are Kinetik batts. any good?

Also, if I get 2 backup batteries, what size batteries should I get? Other than an isolator, what else do I need to install them (like getting an even higher amperage alt. to compensate for the charging of the two extra batts.?)

I assume with the H.O. alt. that a capacitor would be pointless? (As capacitors often seem to be anyway.)

kinetik batteries are really good, but i would say get something else due to the fact they are sh**ty to hook up and also i have heard things about the kinetiks being overcharged. I read you are not supposed to let them charge over 14.3v or they will eventually fry. I have one and charge it around 14.7 and 14.8 all the time...it seems like its losing some of its potential...someone else might know more about this..

why not 2 15" BL's? I would only get 2 15" btl if i were looking to compete.. for a daily driver IMO its a little overboard.

You're probably right about the BTL's, plus I'm looking for a bit better SQ than I think the BTL's can provide. What is a good price for SSX 15's?

Also, how good of an SQL sub would the AudioQue HDC315 be? It would be nice to only spend $500 on two HDC3 15's, though for a little more SPL I'd be willing to spend more, then again I've never herd the AudioQue's, but I really liked the SPL & SQ of the SSX's.

Lastly, would one AQ2200D per SSX, or one AQ2200D for two HDC15's be a good match?

Oh, and any recommendations on H.O. alt. amperage before I buy one? Looks like I'll be pushin' about 5000w at the most for subs and about 200w or so for components, if it helps. Thanks guys.

two HDC15's with an AQ200D would slam and still sound fairly decent. you cant really beat the hdc3's for the price imo. as for the alt i wouldnt go any less than 260 amps.

I think I'd go with the SSX. I'm not a big fan of Fi products. Scott is an off guy...

Good question Daniel, how much $ do the AQ1200D & AQ2200D go for?

Oh, and any idea as to what size (volume) of a box I'd be lookin' at for each HDC315 for SPL (ported)?

I looked on AudioQue's site, but I couldn't find amp prices. Hopefully they're less than Zapco comp. prices.
