i have never had rims but you are going from 16s to 24s

im sure plenty of people dont upgrade brakes - but it probably is a good idea

berny could probably give you some good advice

it doesn't make a difference what vehicle it is. weight is the only variable, and a large suv will definitely need an upgrade. his brakes won't last long. they also probably don't match up with the rims very well either...

I've got an 02 escalade with 24s and stock brakes.... I really do not need a brake upgrade. Of course different wheels have different weights and I'm not sure if the escalade has different brakes than the tahoe.

i would think they do have the same brakes... everyone always says its all the same sh!t just different emblems.. and i asked my uncle and he said the navi came with good size brakes wich is why he didnt change em...and i tried to google an answer before comming here and i read that the acual weight don't matter... its the bigger diameter that makes it harder to brake... but if weight does matter its ok b/c i don't like filled in rims.. i like basic thin 6 spoke wheels with deep lips like the U2 55 series

Definitely upgrade. I have 22's on my Yukon and it brakes just fine. I have a friend with 24's on his nbs tahoe and it doesn't stop as well as mines. Maybe it might be due to the fact that my setup was recently "fixed" and my mechanic did one hell of a job on my braking system.

I wouldnt worry about it, Upgrade the pads if anything not rotors
Not worth it.

Unless your going racing

Just treat your car like it has 24s and not the factory 17s or w/e it had.

Of course its gonna brake longer, its more Rotational Mass, takes longer to stop.

BTW i have 22s and it breaks better then I thought I had to slam on them and it slowed down REALLLLL QUICK.

^^^ haha good stuff

On another note I would never do any "upgrade" to a vehicle that REDUCED braking performance.

I upgraded my brakes on my mountaineer when i went from stock 17s to 22s and there was a HUGE difference. I personally would upgrade the brakes going to 24s... If your going to upgrade do it right.

kills your brakes uh lol.. ya i just don't want to deal with having to upgrade them.. so if i'd have to. to get 24s then i'll drop to 23s or 22s.... or 13" daytons ;)
