Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 02:37 GMT Hi everyone new here, But let me get to the point. Currently have 2x Rockford Fosgate 10" p3 -- 1ohm; single slotted box. ~38hz running on hifonics TXi100D mono block 2F. tsunami cap. Looking to sell these subs and upgrade. Wanting more bass response, SQ Here's what Im thinking so far ONE 12" Fi Q with BP option or ONE 12" Rockford T1 - 2ohm DVC. Planning to keep current amp for now, run 1ohm @ 1000 watts RMS. Either sub will be in a custom enclosure tuned to 33hz. I think two 12"s will be more than what I'm looking for at the moment.

Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 02:46 GMT My vote goes to the FI Q, but it looks like you are looking at 2 very different subs. The Q is more of an SQ woofer and isnt the T1 more of an SPL woofer? I could be wrong though. Also you dont need the cap. Do a big 3 upgrade instead.

Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 02:49 GMT I think that amp does more around ~800w. Maybe look into an Fi SSD instead of a Q? Diamond Audio D9 would be a solid choice as well.

Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 03:00 GMT Later on down the road I plan on upgrading the amp for sure. Been wanting to do so for awhile now I feel Hifonics are not the same as they use to be, Ie, Overrate their amps Looking to upgrade to their brutus series @ 1200watts RMS or a RF Power T500.1BD.. Been hearing they can pump 1100watts RMS Big three upgrade will be rather expensive in my car, 2000 Lincoln LS. I have already upgraded the battery, Quite some time ago. Little more juice over factory spec.

Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 03:11 GMT Upon reading more on this forum, I'm hearing nothing but good things about "sundown" brand amplifiers. First time ive heard of them, Someone explain their experience with them, and are they under or over-rated.

Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 03:17 GMT The bxi1200 amps tend to do around 1000w, possibly a tad less. The RF T5001bd's tend to do 850-950w (what RF claims on birth sheets anyways). I have a custom built 12" TC-9 if you are interested. I ran it off 1200w and it loved every bit of it and wanted more. It has barely 2 months of play on a fresh recone. Dual 1.4 coils (Dual 2).

Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 03:29 GMT Nah no thanks. Think I'm just going to stick with the first choice of the ONE 12" Fi Q sub. I'm always rather picky about quality, always have been that way =/ What other options do I have for amps when I decide to upgrade. -- I have the sundown on my mind now =/ The current hifonics seems to draw alot of current, even with the 2F. Cap the lights in the car will dim slightly under heavy load. Any comments upon if the 12" Fi Q will outdo the P3's? Their the '07 series, 400w RMS.

Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 04:07 GMT I ran my TC-9 is a box tuned around 30hz and it sounded pretty good. It sounded good sealed as well. But I'm willing to bet a Q has a bit better sq though(never heard actually a Q). The P3's should be louder than 1 12" Q, but the Q should sound better. As far as amps... Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 04:44 GMT Thanks for the input guys. I'll continue doing research on amps as time goes on. However, Per Fi's website "ficaraudio.com" They are rating their 15" Q at 1000w RMS? That can be correct.

Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 05:52 GMT Yes, but they can handle more than that. Especially with the bp option.

Wednesday, December 03, 2008 - 23:51 GMT Much thanks. Will probably only be adding the BP option to the sub. Now its a toss between 12" or 15" Q. Have to make some measurements. Also, can anyone of you point me in right direction where to purchase sundown amps, or RD amps.
