can i use car subwoofer amplifier for building a powered subwoofer for home use? whats the effect on the sound? really need help on this......

It's not worth it. It will work but finding a high current 13 volt power supply to realy drive the amp correctly will be too expensive.
Go to www.partsexpress.com. They have home subwoofer amps that you can build into your subs. They aren't too expensive, starting at around $60.

Hi. I used an old car amp to power car subs for my home theater system's box. It works great. I picked up a 10amp switching power supply off eBay for less than $30. Go for it.
