Gold Member Username: Philly306If it werent for box r... Post Number: 1332 Registered: Apr-07 | "it is but its 90% aluminum and only 10 copper" Why would the material matter as long as it can carry the needed current to your amplifier? Plus KnuKonceptz customer service ftw. Bill runs a top notch program there. |
Silver Member Username: BrewskyPrince george, British colu... Canada Post Number: 150 Registered: Aug-08 | u dont want the 100% copper stuff i bought 2 ft i think it was for my ground and i had to buy anouther i couldnt move the wire around worth shiiiiit, to stiff and there arnt nearly as many strans there alot thicker |
Gold Member Username: Philly306If it werent for box r... Post Number: 1333 Registered: Apr-07 | Actually that is also incorrect bruce. 100% copper would have the least resistance with the highest current carrying capabilities that is cheap enough to sell to the general public. Companies mix aluminum in with this to lower cost while still keeping a relatively high current carrying ability. The fact that it is stiff means it has a low strand count. Higher strand count ussually yeilds higher flexibility. With the knu KLM wire it isn't the most flexible wire but it gets the job done at a good price. If you have the coin go for the Kolossus wire. There is a huge difference in flexibility. |

Gold Member Username: Philly306If it werent for box r... Post Number: 1336 Registered: Apr-07 | For good 1/0? 1.75 a foot is about as cheap as it gets. You go get you $30 roll off ebay bruce. Then we can compare you "ebay brand 1/0" to my KLM and kolossus. Then you will be able to realize you 1/0 is actually 4awg. I'll take a vid so everyone will get to see what a dumbass looks like when they get proven wrong.;) |

Silver Member Username: Adelphia83Colorado Springs, CO USA Post Number: 106 Registered: May-05 | I've used both the cheapie no-name cable off Ebay, and the Knuconceptz cable. I ordered in 4awg. The Ebay cable I received was majority insulation with what looked like actual 6 or 8awg wire inside. Just looking at the outside to someone who doesn't know better would appear to be 4awg. the Kollosus (sp?) cable was exactly the opposite. The actual wire content was well beyond the minimum for 4awg. In fact I can only get one clean install in my amp after taking the insulation off. If I have to remove the cable for any reason, I have to cut the wire again and remove more insulation because the old end (after it gets clamped by the set screw) would no longer fit into the terminal-- It's that big. From the second you pull it out of the box, you immediate know that it screams quality-- At a price that can't be beat. I only buy my cable from Knuconceptz now. |
