Gold Member Rock Vegas, NC US Post Number: 2805 Registered: Mar-06 | I put an 18 I my friends canyon, 9 cubes at 28hz and it killed the lows. I wouldn't suggest lower than 28... |
Silver Member Post Number: 813 Registered: Jun-07 | this might be a stupid thing to ask but why not tune lower than 28? so u have an 18 Q? or is it something different? very interested! email me at worrblade@yahoo.com |
Gold Member Username: Livin_loudPost Number: 2642 Registered: Jan-06 | i tried ported @ 30hz with my first box. it was nice. low end monster. then went sealed, lost a little low end, gained a bit on the higher notes. i'd go ported. |

Silver Member Username: DeadrabitPost Number: 817 Registered: Jun-07 | all i want is to kill the lows. i have never listened to something tuned that low, i am pretty pumped to get it done. but ill have to wait till chirstmas to get started |
Gold Member Username: Livin_loudPost Number: 2643 Registered: Jan-06 | yeah, its great having a sub that doesn't bottom out on the lows i honestly didn't use my sub sonic at all |
Silver Member Username: Cplaya280Pennsylvania USA Post Number: 993 Registered: Oct-05 | the AudioPulse Revo Subs can be tuned really low also and kills the lows i have one tuned at 32hz and its deffinetly low and hits the higher notes decent. 1 Sub cost like $400 tho |

Silver Member Username: DeadrabitPost Number: 818 Registered: Jun-07 | so can any one tell me y i shouldn't tune it lower than 28? |
Silver Member Username: ShadeMoxee, Wa U.S. Post Number: 752 Registered: Nov-06 | because u will be lower then the Fs of the sub. |
Gold Member Username: ShortysetniesAndrew Capps, NC US Post Number: 2816 Registered: Mar-06 | And plus, if you hear it at 28 you wont want anything more from that sub... As long as its installed right and you have proper amps and charging... Just take my word on it |
Silver Member Username: DeadrabitPost Number: 819 Registered: Jun-07 | the Fs is 24.5 Hz i know it will be good at 28. but i want the lowest i can go |

Gold Member Username: ShortysetniesAndrew Capps, NC US Post Number: 2817 Registered: Mar-06 | do what everyoe does and make different boxes tuned differently. I guess we can't tell you what box would work best b/c every car is different. |
Platinum Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 10586 Registered: Jun-04 | Going with the sub tuned at 25 hz will probably give you better output at around 30 hz if that is your focus but the upper bass may suffer. |
Gold Member Username: BonhamdPost Number: 1236 Registered: Nov-07 | but 28hz is pretty low - i have to believe taht a Q 18 would be raping lows in a box like that |

Gold Member Username: ShortysetniesAndrew Capps, NC US Post Number: 2825 Registered: Mar-06 | not saying they don't work well sealed, but w/ what he's looking for, ported is the way to go... |
Gold Member Username: Philly306If it werent for box r... Post Number: 1320 Registered: Apr-07 | With an EBP of 38.28 for the dual 1 18" and 37.78 for the dual 2 18" on top of having a somewhat higher Qts makes it a great canidate for a sealed box. As for low end sealed would be great too. It will allow for a much less steep roll off compared to a ported box that will drop off drastically after Fb. The loss of a few decibels is well worth the gain in overall response not to mention the space saved and ease of design of a sealed enclosure. |
Gold Member Username: ShortysetniesAndrew Capps, NC US Post Number: 2826 Registered: Mar-06 | guess I should word those past two statements differently. From personal experience ported>sealed in the same truck, same amp and same sub. The best way for you to know exactly what sounds better and sounds like what you want is to try for yourself and build both... |
Gold Member Username: Thomas_gNM Post Number: 2360 Registered: Oct-05 | Had a couple of 18" Q's sealed and they were still pushing on your ears loud. I would go ported though..... |
