Viewsat is dropping their 9000 HD model from their inventory..its a POS with many bugs and problems, that they NEVER could fix....so now they are comin out with a new POS called the VS MAXHD, that will be their doom..
LMAO...that is the farthest thing from the truth..the VS 9000HD is garbage and being discontinued..so now Viewsat is going to sell ya a new piece of garbage, cause they couldn't fix the 9000 HD, and they need the sales to offset their legal woes....
I think Viewsat had great receivers when they first came out with their Platinum and Extreme, when Pansat starting going downhill...but began slipping with the others with the Ultra ver 1...and their support is OK still, BUT
Viewsat PVR sucks and their 9000 HD really sucks, and have now been far surpassed by Conaxsat and Sonicview, just like when VS got better than the old Pansats..
Haha I agree with you Vs PVR and 9000HD are a flop but the new MaxHD is a brand new not a copy of 9000HD
New info on MAXHD:
"""The tuner is in the hardware just the software needed to make mpeg4 work is on the usb drive that you need to always have pluged in to one of the USB ports."""
Again with this info we can think Turbo HD can be work on this receiver.
plymouth where can I get Bin for viewsat ultra 2000... At my place its not working.. saying NO VIDEO OR AUDIO.. I dont know wat this mean... As I said before this receiver is weird to me...since its new.... days ago its was AUTOROLLING now no video or audio... .. please help.. thanks
Everyone says you need an add on module for viewsat Max HD, on viewsats sight they say the 8psk is built in, is the module for 1080P, and the receiver does 1080I, not everyone has a 1080p TV, my tv is the old 1080I, please advise.
the 8psk is only to get hd air channels, a VS MAXHD Adapter Board (VSMAXHD-AD)60$, it looks like a USB memory adaptor and of course needs to be plug in the USB plug. This module is not 1080p but 1080i and 720p.
Then why would anyone even bother with the Viewsat Max HD, it does not get atsc signals, it only does Fta Channels, it sounds like a waste of money when the viewsat 9000 or Sonicview 8000 are a better investment because they get atsc channels as well as fta with the 8psk module.
the inboard 8psk is only to get hd air channels, a VS MAXHD Adapter Board (VSMAXHD-AD)60$ is available, it looks like a USB memory adaptor and of course needs to be plug in the USB plug. This module is not 1080p but 1080i and 720p.
please provide a link to where you get your information from--
looking at the vsmaxhd i don't see an input for the over the air antenna and the VS MAXHD Adapter Board looks like a board that goes inside the maxhd and doesn't look anything like a usb stick.
The new Viewsat Max HD 8psk tuner module, SK200, is shown in images 01a, 02a, and 03a. First be sure the unit is unplugged from AC power. Next remove the top cover of the Viewsat Max HD by removing the screws at the rear of the unit. You will remove the current tuner module of the MAX HD pictured in image 04a. When removing the tuner module be careful not to bend the 4 pins in the corner. These are guide pins used to help guide the Add-on Module into place. You can see these circled in image 05a and also in the last image, which shows the empty slot before the new 8psk module is installed.
After you install the new 8psk module, replace the cover, plug into AC power, and go to Menu > System Information > Receiver Information. You should see Optional Tuner Found. You can now scan your satellites to pick up Turbo 8psk channels on DN.
