IF THE DP34 IS GOOD AND NOT DEFECTED AND ALL YOUR LNB'S AHS TO BE DP NOT DPP MAKE SURE ARE ONLY DP. MAKE SURE OF YOUR SETTING , SHOULD WORK LIKE A CHARME
pirate: You are attempting to power the LNBs and the DP34 with a Viewsat Ultra. Two Viewsat Ultra on all the time might be just OK to supply the power. A better solution is to apply power to Port 1 out put of the DP34 and attach the two receivers to Outputs 2 and 3 and then use each receiver independently. You can, instead of special power supply, use an old DN receiver ON all the time connected to output no 1.
WE DONT PWER DP34 DP34 WORK ONLY WITH LNB'S DP WE ARE NOT TALKING HERE ABOUT DPP LNB'S . I HAVE DP34 WITH 2 RECEIVER AND EVERYTHING IS FINE . DONT TRY TO COMPLICATE THIS MATTER.
The power supply needs of DP34 can be satisfied by even a single FTA receiver, or even two Pansat 3500s may not be able to do it.
The information I posted has been posted many a time in reputable sites and mulled over with the exact details of power requirements and the power supplied.
It is really simple. Power is needed by 1. Receiver(s) 2. DP34 switch 3. LNB(s)
If there is not enough power, things will not work. After many posts and complaints, the industry has found that of the receivers available, Pansat 3500 are the weakest and some of the older Viewsat Ultra were weak. The weakness shows up in weird ways. We had a post here several months ago, where the guy used t watch in his living room and his spouse in the bedroom. When he switched off his receiver in the living room, he used to switch it right off and the bedroom receiver stopped function or got all haywire.
The best thing is to anticipate it and power the system with an old DN receiver which have very good power supplies.
my friends, vs ultra does not like dp34,it does not have enough juice to power it up i have tested it. here is a solution ( cheap one) get a used dn receiver and leave it on and plugged into dp34 port 1 use port 2 and 3 for your fta receivers and you will never have a problem. my other fta receivers don't have a problem with dp34
DPP is a stackig LNB It has the capabillty to take multi-sat with dual polarities on a single coax using DP34 New common voltage will be 20 Volts on 1000MA
I do think Cartier is right If use non-DPP on DP-34 might be OK
But since most DPP come with DP34 yo'll need a seperate voltage source
I never tried DP34 with non DPP But what Cartier says make s perfect sense to me Use a regular DP or DP-Twin and yo'll be OK on DP34
Power specs can be confusing
I agree with African as well If yo see the size of the VS Ultra yo'll ask where is the rest of the receiver I won't be surprised if it doesn't have enough current to drive the switch
King: The subject of DP and DPP and DP-34 has been well threshed out particualrly at al7bar*tk, and in this forum, and without getting into details, for the ordinary FTA user, it should be made plain and clear that if he is using DP34 power it at Port 1 output with a separate power supply or use an old DN receiver on all the time. What you have to understand is that a connection to the DP34 switch is OFTEN not easily accessible and people do change their FTA receivers, add receivers etc. Therefore as practical preventive measure I advise people to power the DP34 for trouble free reception.
nalin Ignore the Kid At first I thought he was a wanabee with low IQ I had no idea he was under aged This is an adult discussion we can disagree all day There is no room for under aged kids to give us technical advice
BTW This young teanager is from country of egypt and not a US citezen So he can't vote for both reasons
