I'm putting together a new system for my car and I'm looking at Boston PRO50 components. Looks like they run about $260ish. Any opinions on these speakers? Any other recommendations in this price range (E bay prices)? I generally listen to rock/alternative.

Thanks

The Boston Pro's have very nice midrange and a brighter tweeter (if that fits your tastes). They do lack pretty severely in the midbass region though. For rock or rap, I'd look elsewhere.

Thanks Exige. Could you recommend a 5.25" speaker that would be better suited to the music I listen to, in the under $300 range?

Thanks,

Just be conservative setting the gains and you'll be fine :-)
