First off sorry about your luck ... and are there lights working on the reciever at all eg: clock .

When attempting to turn it ON, are you pushing the front on/off button? Try the remote on/off button see it that works.

Plus make sure the back switch is ON not off.

If none of the above work for you you could try to open the receiver box and see if the on/off switch wires are connected properly.

Other than that you could take it to a repare shop or just get a new UPDATE receiver. My choice would be sonicview 360.

Consider it a blessing, since that Pansat 2500 clone has seen better days. All you can do is open the casing and check for loose conections or the fuse. Its a dinosaur and not worth spending any money to fix it. I agree, a Sonicview 360 series, would be my next option.

There are a number of people in this forum that would agree that southcoast is solid, secure and safe. I'm sure Tooter wouldn't steer you wrong. I have nothing to gain by telling you about this place. There are a lot of peoplein this forum that would tell you that hell is a great place. Upload

Dude just get your post perpendicular to the ground. Check it with a cheapie bullet level all the way around. Set your skew, elevation and rough in your azimuth on the dish based on your zip code listed in the guide at this link. Click on "Learn more" http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/our_products/installation/index.shtml
Then rotate the dish slightly left and right until you start getting signal on both LNBs. You might have to do some tweeking to get it maxed out but its not rocket science. I have a camouflaged camping dish on a wooden sled that I set up in the desert all the time and I just eyeball it and have I have it tuned in a few minutes.

Plymouth runs and whines to the adnins about spams, and then thanks the admin when he deletes the spam.

Now Plymouth begins posting his own spam , along with Nalin Nydas converted 2500 sites and their spams, and thinks thats OK. What a hypercrite!

another 2 faced wannabee, king of Zoocoustics!

so which sonicview 360 is the best the premier or the elite? any recommendations?

The Elite is more functional, because it has a dual tuner, allowing for watching 1 channel while recording (PVR) another 2nd channel. The Premier is a great receiver also, but has only a single tuner and you can only record (PVR) what you are watching. So you decide what which you prefer. Reading at other forums would have explained this all to you. This place is really not the place to get "educated" about FTA. This site is basically for wannabees' and haha's.

Its like driving a car, basically they're all the same. The brakes, gas pedal and steering may react a lil different but otherwise its the same. If you can use a remote control, then thats as smart as you need to be. FTA receivers were not made for rocket scientists, nor were DTV , Bev or DN receivers. Any Joe Blow on the street can operate any receiver.

Ask Nalin on new thread for puff or b75 one of the most on it.

Sean here is are links to compare the SV FTA receivers

http://www.gosatellite.ca/sonicview-fta-receivers-canada-s/465.htm

http://www.gosatellite.ca/Sonicview-SV-360-Elite-s/923.htm

Prices may vary depending on where you buy one... these links are just to compare the receivers. Unless you wish to buy one from that site/dealer. The choice is up to you.

If you wish to but one Ebay is a good place to start looking around.

oh and to answer you question about PUFF or b75... Puff is an upgrade from b75 I find it more stable but thats just me. I like Puff myself.

I have a FLU/Fortec converted into pansant PUFF. If you do want to get your Magasat up and running , Jtag is the way to go and I can help you convert it to Puff . I have done it b4 for friends with Magasat ,Multisat and Fortecs also. I dont just post bin files for anything I actualy work on the recievers too.

Sonicview 360 Premier
Sonicview 360 Elite
Viewsat Ultra
Viewsat Ultra Lite
Conaxsat Mini
Conaxsat Duo
Nfusion Nova

I believe these all to be better than any Captiveworks, in all possible ways.

Agf has a good point. with Nagra 3 coming in and the uncertainties associated with the industries ability to cope with new software, a smaller investment in a cheaper Captiveworks model now is the best solution.

No point in buying a cheap non USB ready receiver or ANY receiver if you are worried about NEVER having TV again because of Nagra3.

Either buy a GOOD USB ready receiver or NONE at all..that SV Premier is only $135...why waste $100 on a cheap receiver, if none are going to work...spend a few more dollars and get a USB ready receiver..

justforhaha's aka LK has a vested interest in your buying a new and expensive receiver.

Everybody knows that Nagra 3 is being tested and will become the encryption in a couple of months. We WILL then have a blackout for about 1- 4 months and there is no point sitting on an expensive investment during that time.
The other thing to note is that Nagra 3 will most likely be exclusive to HD - i.e. when the appropriate time comes they will activate "HD only" part of the software. If you are planning to invest more money then you should get a HD receiver and be prepared for the blackout I mentioned above.
