Is the green light flashing when you plug it into the usb port? BTW is it a front or back port?
Are you running USB 2.0 or 1.1? On some older computers they only have USB 1.1 Newer usb devises will not be recognized. But you can updated the port drivers to 2.0
Doh silly me I forgot your talking about receivers Sorry I oopsed... But if the light doesnt light up when pluging it in ... then you have a dead 8G drive. But not to worry, I found some helpful links for Cartier1 who's usb stick is dead too. if you would like ...I would be happy to get the links for you also.
