on my way home from work just now, i stopped at mc donald's to pick up some lunch. there was a homeless guy that was waiting for the cars when exiting the drive-thru. since the weather is hot and all, i felt sorry for him. so i ordered a big mac combo for the dude. when i was exiting the drive thru window, i pulled up to him and gave him what i bought for him.
he then asks me if i had a couple of dollars to spare. i told him isn't this combo enough? lol. and he says yeah thanks. then he saw that i was smoking a cigarette so he asks me if i had another. so i said sure and i took out a cig to give him. then he says "oh marlboro red. that is strong. you don't have marlboro lights?". i just said damn and i left.
Don't be fooled by the "homeless". Some peddle $100's/day. In Atlantic city you can see them get into their $50,000 cars at the end of their day.
Don't give them money. It only breeds greed. If you want to help someone help the woman in front of you at the supermarket who has to put toilet paper back because it exceeds her limit. Mind you there is nothing of frills in her order first.
Happened to me one day. Woman with kids who had more in her cart than what she could pay for in front of me. She had to leave behind some oranges, toy water gun for her son and a box of cereal. Embarrassed, she left without them.
So I told the clerk to add them to my order and I rushed them out to her before she left.
THAT is who you extend charity to. Not some azzhole on the boardwalk looking for suckers.
A cop told me one time to never give those guys money. When they arrest them for blocking traffic or harassing people they find $300 in their pockets and some of them even have jobs at night.
Damn Chad you live in the rich side were did you see this homeless.
A few years ago I went to a taco place. Before i enter some guy asked me for $$$$ so i figure i would buy him food. When i handed him his taco he said no i want money not food and wouldnt take my food.
