Silver Member Username: KrishnPost Number: 160 Registered: Sep-06 | Thanks sada. The rec has an option to format in FAT32 or EXT2. It formats fine if FAT32 is chosen, but get an error message saying formatting failed if EXT2 is chosen. Not sure if it was common problem or isolated one? |

Silver Member Username: KrishnPost Number: 161 Registered: Sep-06 | Thanks Sada No problem with USB,using the small USB thumb drive as far as updating and recording (creates files) - all with FAT32. Only problem is formatting a new USB drive in EXT2 format, the rec just refuses to do EXT2 formatting and gives an error message. |

Windows (Microsoft) does not know what to do with an EXT2 partition. Actually they know what to do but won't do it since LINUX is competition. If your friend wants to let his USB memory stick be universal, he better let it in FAT32 format. |
